Welcome, and thank you for stopping by
Hello, I’m Anna. Meaningful change grows from feeling safe, and creating that sense of safety is where our work begins. I specialise in trauma-informed, neurodivergence-affirming therapy with individuals and couples, working relationally through a culturally and identity-aware lens. I am here to help you slow things down, make sense of your experience and find relief and clarity to move forward.
If you’re here, you may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, lonely or disconnected, perhaps after coping for a long time on your own or having experienced trauma. You might be exploring ADHD or AuDHD—diagnosed, self-identified, or still questioning - and carrying the weight of masking, ADHD and autistic burnout, or trying to fit into environments that were never built with the way you think, feel and experience the world in mind. For some, this also connects with cultural identity, belonging, or the experience of moving between different worlds and feeling unseen or misunderstood, struggling to know where home is.
I have ADHD myself and work affirmatively with neurodivergent people, bringing professional and lived experience. I work with a particular focus on supporting late-diagnosed ADHD and AuDHD. And I have experience working with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, burnout, chronic illness and relationship or workplace difficulties.
Having lived internationally for 20 years, I bring both personal and professional understanding of what it means to navigate and live between cultures, different identities and ideas of home and belonging. I have a particular interest in cultural identity, intersectionality and in how our cultural backgrounds and cross-cultural experiences can shape our relationships, emotional wellbeing and sense of self. I also support people navigating significant life transitions, including relocation, living abroad and the challenges that can accompany expatriate life. Moving to a new country can bring opportunity and excitement, but also experiences of isolation, loss, uncertainty and questions around identity and belonging. Whether you are adjusting to life in a new country, returning home after years abroad, navigating relationships across cultures, or simply questioning where “home” is, I can offer a space to explore these experiences and develop a stronger sense of connection, stability and belonging.
If this resonates, we can take things at your pace. You don’t need to have the right words - we can find them together. Together, we can explore who you are beyond survival — supporting you to feel more grounded, connected, and aligned with yourself.
In sessions, I offer you safe space to step back, make sense of what feels confusing or heavy, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been pushed aside in order to cope.
I offer a free 20-minute introductory call to give you space to ask questions and see whether working together feels like the right fit - with no pressure to commit.
How I Work
I am a Gestalt therapist offering a humanistic, person-centred and integrative approach to counselling. So, I use different approaches depending on what you might need, so the therapy is tailored to you.
I draw on Gestalt therapy, alongside somatic (body-based) awareness, mindfulness, and creative techniques to support emotional regulation, grounding, and nervous system awareness. This helps you explore your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations in the present moment, especially if you feel overwhelmed or disconnected.
Rather than asking “what’s wrong with you?”, we explore what your experiences mean to you, how they developed, and what becomes possible when they are met with understanding and care. I trust my instinct and empower you to trust yours.

Therapy is collaborative and paced to suit you. We work within a supportive, non-judgemental space to build self-awareness, strengthen connection, and support you in moving towards a more grounded, confident, and authentic sense of self. Together, we explore what genuinely supports your nervous system - rather than what you feel you "should" be doing.
I work relationally, meaning the therapeutic relationship itself becomes a place for insight, repair, and growth. I also bring a neurodiversity-affirming and culturally sensitive perspective, honouring the ways your nervous system, identity, and lived experience shape how you move through the world.
Each session is carefully tailored to you, inviting awareness, compassion, and self-understanding, rather than forcing change.
About Me
I’m Anna Vargas (MBACP)
As a Spanish mixed-race counsellor who has lived across different countries over the last 20 years, I work through a strong cultural, racial, and intersectional lens. I understand how culture, migration, family dynamics, racism, micro-aggressions, and systemic pressures can shape mental health, anxiety, self-esteem and relationships.
Clients tell me that it feels important to work with someone who can hold these experiences with sensitivity, curiosity, and care.

I am a fully qualified Counsellor, registered with the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and I am currently qualifying as a Relationship Therapist, and registered with the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT). I work with individuals and couples and my practice is neuro-affirming and trauma-informed.
My approach is Gestalt and integrative, meaning I pay attention to the whole of your experience — your thoughts, feelings, body, relationships, culture, and environment — and draw from a range of therapeutic models to support you as an individual. I work in English and Spanish.
